Model companies tend to lean towards building subjects with a television and/or movie following. The History Channel's Ice Road Truckers series is quite popular at this time. This might be an opportunity to convince the model companies to produce a new subject. I also encourage you to offer subjects from the series that you'd like to include in your model collection. At this time this is an informal survey, but it might be useful to those that have contact with the model companies, so let's throw out some bait and see if anyone bites.

It would be interesting to see some modern truck models like the International 9600 or a Kenworth T660 or W900L; but I really doubt that it will happen.
Hey, your from Alaska, right? You guys have ice roads up there in the winter?

I don't know about the main land. I'm on an island, and there's only about 50 miles of paved roads. It's generally to warm to ice up much here, although last year was a little messy.

The only cool truck from the show was on last year. Damned if I can think of the drivers name. But he was a young guy who did a lot of heavy hauls and I believe the truck was a Western star and it was white in color. Also who here would want to build the junk from Hugh's fleet? Not me. Alex's truck wasn't that great either.

Doc::: Think the driver you are talking about is Jay Westguard. A couple of weeks ago he had that Western Star up for auction on E-bay. Dont know if he sold it or not but the starting bid on it was 70,000.00 Jeff

I thought the guy last year doing all the heavy stuff had a white 387 Pete with a headache rack and a single sleeper? As for trucks on the new episode, i like the Pete with the wide steers on it. Cant remember the guys name but he hauled the man lift in the last episode. The episode before he had a building on the back that was too tall to bring into town so they had to unload it the next morning and drag it in with a frontend loader.
Found his name, it's Eric Dufresne. The guy with the Pete on the new season.

I thought that was a W/S. I could build this one from the kits that are out there now.

I would like to see some NEW models made. IRT's would be ok but, the new International ProStar would be a real nice one. Some different trailers would be good as well. Bulk air slide, bottom dump grain trailer. And bring back some farm equipment, too.

My thought behind this, was that sometimes it's hard to get companies to release new models. If they tied it into a popular television show, we might actually get them to release something.

My fav is a couple of the Mack work trucks. One has a cherry picker type boom and the other has the lift on back that helped place the drill rig. Both had twin front steering axles...not sure of the correct term.

On the new season? I think they're Kenworth C500s. Those big red ones at the drill site?

On the new season? I think they're Kenworth C500s. Those big red ones at the drill site? I guess I'll have to pay more attention on Sunday. My guess is that when I think more about it, you may be right. Either way i want a model like that! Bruce
